DKC 50: The Boston Trilogy
Posted in Double KillcastApril 1, 2013
In March of 2013, Jason Superior and I traveled to Boston, MA to attend PAX East 2013.
…if you don’t know what PAX East is, I’ll try to sum it up for you in three words. Video. Game. Convention.
We played games. We watched videos of upcoming games. We drank. We ate. We recorded three podcasts.
In truth, less than half of the content of DKC 50 has anything to do with gaming at all. That said, even in the days of Doublekill.US, our content wasn’t so much about video games as it was an attempt to make the scene a little more mainstream, a little more accessible, and a little more entertaining than the content that already flooded the internet.
Looking back, I think we consistently made a better product for gamers (and certainly for non-gamers) than almost anyone out there, and I’m exceedingly proud of what we’ve accomplished.
Though the future of DoubleKill may be uncertain, the one thing that I’m certain of is that DKC50Boston is a very raw, uncensored look at friendship. At the risk of sounding of a total bitch, I think that these three hours are the perfect culmination of everything we’ve set out to accomplish since day one.
To make it a little easier to deal with, I’ve provided the three podcasts individually below. If you’re feeling like a badass, feel free to click on the (almost) 200 minute long one.
Thanks for listening to two guys who like to drink and swear about video games.
